FAQ's for Weddings and Vow Renewals

What is unique about Annemarie?

As a Celebrant, Annemarie is the co-creator, consultant, resource person, encourager, advisor and the Officiant of your ceremony. She orchestrates each ceremony with professionalism and heart, and always keeps the focus on the individual, couple and/or family. The underlying principle of Celebrancy is that you - the client - own the ceremony.

Annemarie puts a lot of time, energy and effort into officiating each ceremony and offers valuable benefits to her clients that are unique including a custom written ceremony, an Assistant at all ceremonies (when necessary) and unlimited phone and email access before your big day. With a background in event planning, Annemarie works with her clients to choreograph the ceremony and consults with your vendors (music, wedding planner, etc.). Bottom line to you? Peace of mind on one of the most important days of your lifetime.

How long before the Ceremony should we book Annemarie?

It is best to book early. Saturdays are the first to go. Some months are busier than others.

May we interview her before we make our selection?

Absolutely. Many couples book without an initial meeting. However, if possible, Annemarie prefers to meet the couple as soon into the process as possible.

What is the cost of Annemarie's professional services?

The cost for each ceremony varies depending on the couple and what they want for their day. Ceremonies range from $250-$850 and Annemarie can offer you a quote over the phone and/or during your initial consultation.

Quality is the cornerstone of Annemarie's work. Most of the people who are interested in her level of services want more. They are unique in that they recognize the quality/content of a ceremony is the "heart and soul" of a very special day. And they pay a little more for the comfort and insurance of knowing they are contracting with a first class professional who comes with a boatload of experience, impeccable references, a gentle and enthusiastic spirit and some spunk, too! Annemarie puts a lot of time and effort into each ceremony that she co-creates and officiates and does not operate a "run of a mill" or "cookie cutter" ceremony outfit. For more detailed information, please go to Services & Fees.

What happens next after we request her services?

Once Annemarie has received your $200 deposit, she will send you a confirmation letter and guide to planning your wedding ceremony. Your ceremony will then be designed, created and written and a copy will be forwarded to you for approval about 30-45 days before the ceremony. A rehearsal time will also be set-up (recommended). And, of course, Annemarie is available for questions or advice via phone or email anytime.

How are payments made?

If you invite Annemarie to conduct your ceremony, she asks for an initial deposit and a signed document. The balance is then collected 30 days before the ceremony.

How long does a Ceremony take?

That's up to the couple. Annemarie suggests that each couple allow 20-30 minutes for the entrance, the ceremony, the signing and the recessional. And just as an FYI, rehearsals often take more time than the actual ceremony.

What does Annemarie do at rehearsals?

Helps you stage your ceremony. Organizes, coordinates. Gets everyone comfortable.

How long do rehearsals last?

Rehearsals often start late and take more time than the actual wedding. Annemarie limits rehearsal time to one and a half hours for all ceremonies.

What time will she arrive and leave?

Annemarie will arrive 30-60 minutes before the ceremony. She will also stay afterward for any pictures, etc.

Can we write our own vows?

Absolutely! If you desire, your wedding ceremony is custom designed and written just for you - no cookie cutter "run of the mill" ceremonies here! Your wedding ceremony should say all of the right things, the way you want them said, period! When the words of your ceremony personally express and capture the special love you have for each other, the ceremony becomes a powerful statement of your new life together. Annemarie provides you a full draft of your wedding ceremony 30 days before the wedding (if possible) for your approval. Anne will suggest and advise, however leaves final decisions up to the couple.

Can children and other family members take part in our Ceremony?

Yes. Annemarie strongly encourages this and has ideas and suggestions for including your child(ren) and special family members in the ceremony. Since this is your wedding, it can include all of the aspects of ceremony and celebration that are meaningful to you. If you like, you can work with Annemarie to incorporate intimate and memorable rituals into your ceremony - this could be a rose ceremony, passing on family medallions, a dog as "best dog," or perhaps drinking of the wine. What about signing the wedding license?

Annemarie recommends signing it at the rehearsal (if possible) so you don't have to worry about it on your big day. It is her job to see that all paperwork gets submitted to the Clerks Office on schedule.

What name do I use when I sign the marriage documents?

Sign the same name that is on your marriage license. You begin using your assumed name after.

What does Annemarie wear?

She will dress appropriately for your ceremony. She's worn everything from a simple elegant outfit to a ministerial robe. Her goal is to blend in, not stick out.

Does she travel?

Yes, from the back yard, to the beach to the mountains to a covered bridge. It's your wedding and she'll do her best to accommodate your wishes.
