My Philosophy and Beliefs
I am a non-denominational Wedding Celebrant & Officiant registered in the
State of Washington. My work life is dedicated full-time to creating
personalized, heart-centered and memorable ceremonies to honor the milestones in
life - whether this is your wedding, a vow renewal ceremony, a baby welcoming,
life memorial or the passing of a beloved pet.
Spiritual Beliefs
My
philosophy is spiritual in nature with love and kindness at its center. As an
ordained, non-denominational minister, I honor and respect all beliefs and traditions,
whether religious, spiritual or secular. I do not use
a ceremony as a platform to promote my personal beliefs but to assist you in
celebrating yours. Honesty, integrity and fairness are a part of my life in
everything that I do.
I was raised Christian and appreciate many of the tenets and rituals of all
of the world's religions and faiths. I pursue a personal spiritual path, am
a voracious reader and life-long learner and am working on a Masters in Interfaith
Ministry. I am a Certified Celebrant and have earned a Diploma in Marriage Celebrancy
through the Celebrant USA Foundation.
My Uniqueness
As a Celebrant/Officiant, I am the co-creator, consultant, resource person,
encourager, advisor and the Officiant of your ceremony. I orchestrate each ceremony
with professionalism and heart, and always keep the focus on the individual,
couple and/or family. The underlying principle of Celebrancy is that you, the
client, own the ceremony.
I put a lot of time, energy and effort into officiating each ceremony and offer
valuable benefits to my clients that are unique including a custom written ceremony,
an assistant at all ceremonies (when necessary) and unlimited phone and email
access before your big day. More questions? Please go to FAQ's
for Weddings and Vow Renewals.
Background/Personal
I come to this work with a big heart, a happy life and
marriage, great friends, an abiding love for animals and a commitment to
lifelong learning. I spent 15 years in the corporate world, building and
selling two successful event planning companies in the late 90's. Prior to that
I worked on-air in broadcast journalism for 5 years and have a B.A. in
Journalism from Syracuse University.
My husband, Greg, is the love of my life and to me, the most wonderful man in
the world (You absolutely are, Honey!). We live on Bainbridge Island and our
family consists of four furry canines who were all rescued from abuse and
neglect. My volunteer time is dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating the most
abused companion animals.
My Fees
Quality is the cornerstone of my work. Most of the people who are
interested in my level of services want more. They are unique in that they
recognize the quality/content of a ceremony is the "heart and soul" of a very
special day. And they pay a little more for the comfort and assurance of knowing
they are contracting with a first-class Celebrant who comes with professional
experience, impeccable references, a gentle and enthusiastic spirit and some
spunk, too! I put a lot of time and effort into each ceremony that I co-create
and officiate and do not operate a "run of a mill" or "cookie cutter" ceremony
outfit. For more detailed information, please go to Services & Fees.
And Just For Fun
I do not sacrifice anything. I do not jump out of anything. I do not wear scuba gear and I do not do any ceremony naked. Other than that, I'm open!
